Shark Tank Business Lessons Man-PACK, Bottle Breacher, The Natural Grip & Priority 1 Canine

Man-PACKPitching the Shark Tank a ‘messenger’ bag for men that is rugged, durable and versatile is Aaron Tweedie, from Virginia. Tweedie is a military veteran, which is a theme of the episode that he appears in. Tweedie calls his product line the Man-PACK. He created Man-PACK out of his own need, as an on the go person who loves the outdoors, he was always carrying a lot of gear and was unable to find acceptable solutions to his need. So, he created his own line of bags for men that are useful on construction sites and in the wild. Man-PACKs are sold online at the Man-Pack website. Tweedie is also launching a product called Kid-PACK via Kickstarter. Expect to see Daymond John interested in the Man-PACK

Bottle BreacherLooking for a bottle opener with a little bit of history? Miltary vetern Elijah Crane appears on Shark Tank to pitch his line of bottle openers called Bottle Breacher. Bottle Breacher bottle openers are made of spent bullet casings, specifically 50 caliber bullet casings. Crane has created a line of these bottle openers from used bullets. The company employs military veterans. Bottle Breachers are powder coated for a long lasting coating that sustains its finish. Crane offers customized Bottle Breachers that can be engraved with a message. Crane has grown the business by promoting it as promotional and gift item to corporate events and personal events like weddings and bachelor parties. Bottle Breacher was founded in 2012.

The Natural GripCrossfit is a huge exercise, fitness and workout phenomenon that has grown in the United States and beyond. Pitching an accessory that works not just for cross fitters, but any other workout enthusiast is Ashley Drake, a military veteran. Drake created a product called ‘The Natural Grip.’ The Natural Grip is not a glove, but works in a similar fashion to t glove in that it offers protection for the skin of the user’s hands. The Natural Grip is a flexible wrap that ‘attaches’ at the fingers and covers the palms and ties at the wrist. The product allows users to get a better grip on bars and other objects during their workouts. The Natural Grips contour to the hand and palm, so the fit is natural, not obtrusive. The Natural Grips are custom sized, so it is important to determine the ring size of the middle two fingers, as the Natural Grip slips over each of the two middle fingers and stays in place similarly to how a ring stays in place. The Natural Grip website has some sizing tools to help users figure out the appropriate ring size. Daymond John has been an investor in Crossfit and other workout businesses, so expect to see him interested. There a variety of colors available on the company website.

Dogs aren’t just mankind’s best friend, they can also be great defenders and protectors as well. Enter Wade & Lori Morrell who operate a business called Priority 1 Canine that they pitch to the Sharks. Priority 1 Canine is a business that trains and sells personal security dogs for end users. Dog training is a huge industry, especially in the security and protection arena. The main focus of Priority 1 Canine so far has seemed to be the consumer market. The price for trained canines is $30,000 and up, so this is a high end market that Priority 1 Canine services. Robert Herjavec loves cute and furry dogs, so let’s see if he is just as fond of dogs that are menacing in the face of threats and danger.

Ruck Pack available on Amazon.comReceiving a  Shark Tank update segment are Rob Dyer of Noots! Nutrition, LLC which has a subsidiary product called RuckPack and the sisters, Ashley Jung And Paige DellaValle, behind Stella Valle NYC.  Dyer, Jung and DellaValle all spoke at conference for military veterans looking to transition to entrepreneurship.  This is a great addition to this themed episode of Shark Tank with Veterans day around the corner.  For those not familiar with RuckPack, it is a single-source, power-packed vitamin & energy shot.  Rob Dyer received the inspiration to create RuckPack from his background in the Marines, specifically in the Special Ops division.    Rob Dyer’s experience during active military deployment demonstrated to him that he needed an energy drink that was small in size and could deliver the results without caffeine, which can cause jitters.  The name RuckPack stems from the supplies pack that troops carry which needs to pack as many essential items as possible and be as light in weight as possible.  StellaValle is a line of jewelry that is influenced by a theme of strength inspired by the military background of the sisters.  The business name, StellaValle, is a play off their original family last name of DellaValle.
