Shark Tank Business Valuation and Negotiation Lessons Ninja Cards, Soapsox, HeartPup, DrumPants, Villy Pants update

Ninja Cards websitePromising to be a fun segment is Ninja Cards.  Ninja Cards are pitched on Shark Tank by Ken Haton, Dustin Berk and partners.  Ninja cards are a fun card throwing game, kind of like throwing darts at a dart board.  Berk & Haton conjured up Ninja Cards in 2009 when they were throwing hotel key cards at bottles in their hotel room. The “Ninja Cards” are made of thick plastic, and are easy enough to grip and throw for children.  Since there are a lot of different ways to throw a card at a target, the game does lend itself to a lot of fun for kids.  With the combination of ninjas and throwing projectiles, the Ninja Card segment promises to be a fun one.

SoapSox on Amazon.comRay Phillips and Alvin Uy are the duo behind Soapsox, which gets pitched to the shark tank.  Soapsox is based in Los Angeles.  Soapsox are a fun and simple concept.  Soapsox are bath sponges that come in cute designs that are appealing to children.  Soapsox bath sponges have an internal cavity that into which a bar of soap can be inserted which when combined with water creates a soapy lather for bathing.  However, just like any other bath sponges, Soapsox can also be used with liquid soaps.  This a great bath time product, so if Phillips and Uy have proof of concept, expect the sharks to be interested.

Heartpup on Amazon.comThere is no denying that pet owners have great affection for their animals, including those that own small dogs.  Now, dogs should enjoy a good walk, but there are times when owners want to carry them.  Some small dogs are called purse dogs, but is there a more humane way to carry a small dog around.  Well, judge for yourself, since Anastasia Balyura pitches the Shark Tank her creation called the Heart Pup.  Heart Pups are fashionable body slings designed to carry dogs in.  Aside from body slings, Balyura sells dog accessories such as harnesses and collars under her HeartPup line.  Expect the predictable shots of Robert Herjavec making happy faces at the cute little dogs that Balyura will bring on to the Shark Tank set with her Heart Pup business.

Villy Customs Cruiser Bikes As Seen on ABC's Shark TankGetting an update segment is Fleetwood Hicks of Villy Customs.  Villy Customs makes fun, colorful beach cruisers.  The bikes are popular, enough so to have gotten an investment from Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban.  Corcoran and Cuban came in together on their offer, because they both felt that they needed to devote significant resources to help grow the business.  We’ll see just how involved they have been in helping Hicks grow the business.  We’ll see if they have created another manufacturing facility, or if they have outsourced manufacturing.  Perhaps, a licensing deal is in the works.  A lot of intriguing possibilities for Villy Customs.  Barbara Corcoran, Mark Cuban and Fleetwood Hicks settled on $500,000 in exchange for a 42% equity stake.  Hicks negotiated as well as he could and was able to increase the valuation of his business by $80,000 with his final counteroffer.  For full details onthe negotiation that Hicks engaged in, here is the original post for the episode of Shark Tank that he appeared in.

Bringing some fun and hi-tech to eh Shark Tank are Tyler Freeman and company from DrumPants.  DrumPants are like a band that you wear on your legs.  DrumPants have built in sensors that allow the wearer to literally make music with controls that can be attached to clothing in a discreet fashion.
